Medici Riccardi Palace
The Palazzo Medici Riccardi was built in the Renaissance style between 1444 and 1460 and was designed by Michelozzo di Bartolomeo for Cosimo de' Medici, a member of the great Medici family. The project of Michelozzo di Bartolomeo was influenced both by Brunelleschi's principles and Roman ones. The Palazzo Medici Riccardi was one of the numerous structures built during the period of Florentine prosperity. The building reflects the accumulated wealth of the Medici family. It is fairly well preserved. Today the Palazzo Medici Riccardi is the Provincial Council Centre.
